An elected five member Board of Chosen Freeholders manages Burlington County’s government. The term “freeholder” originated in England and is unique in the United States to the State of New Jersey. It is comparable to County Commissioner or Supervisor in other states. Freeholders have both administrative and policy-making powers.

Businesses Committed to Burlington County (BC²) was founded to promote the common good and general welfare of the members of the Burlington County community by focusing on the orderly development of the commercial/industrial and residential climate of Burlington County, insuring that the highest standards of quality are maintained, mainly through educational, public relations and promotional events.

More than 2,100 acres of land in Burlington County is being developed as parkland with trails, water access, picnic facilities and play areas. Federal Funding Opportunity Now Available for USEDA’s American Recovery Program
EDA is pleased to announce the solicitation of applications under its $150 million American Recovery Act Program. EDA is soliciting applications from eligible applicants in all U.S. States to fund projects that will advance economic growth in communities and regions experiencing chronic high unemployment and low per capita income.
EDA’s goal is to create an environment that fosters innovation, promotes entrepreneurship and attracts increased private capital investment. The deadline for receipt of applications under the Recovery Act Program is June 30, 2010.
